Kansas students involved in Colorado bus crash

January 22, 2018 - 10:11 pm

Winter weather has prevented a group of Kansas students from returning home after an accident in Colorado.  The accident happened Sunday near Burlington Colorado on I-70.

The bus they were riding in struck a jackknifed semi on the highway.  There were no serious injuries, but several students were reported to have suffered bumps and bruises.

The fifty students from churches in the Hesston area had been attending the Rocky Mennonite Show Camp.  They were put on a pair of buses and taken back to Burlington following the accident to wait for I-70 to reopen.

The students are expected to be back home on Tuesday.
