KC needs overtime to knock off Thunder 3-2

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - A goal by Shawn Pauly two minutes into overtime helped Kansas City knock off Wichita by the final of 3-2 on Wednesday night at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena. 

The two teams traded goals in the second period and needed overtime for the second-straight game in the season-series. 

Travis Ewanyk and Dyson Stevenson each scored a goal for the Thunder, while goaltender Shane Sarrett stopped 34 of 37 shots in a losing effort.  

Wichita went 0-for-2 on the power play. Kansas City was 0-for-5 on the man advantage.

The Thunder finishes their two-game road swing on Black Friday against the Quad City Mallards at 7:05 p.m.
