KHP identifies man killed on I-235 in Wichita

One person is dead, another hospitalized after a traffic accident in south Wichita.  The Kansas Highway Patrol says it happened in the south-bound lanes of I-235 around 2:15 a.m. near MacArthur.  A car struck a bridge wall, came to a rest sideways, and was then struck by a van.  

The driver of the car, 29-year-old Kenneth Piper of Wichita, was thrown from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.  A 30-year-old woman was driving the van, she was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. I-235 was closed south-bound at Seneca for several hours while the KHP investigated the accident.
