WICHITA, Kan. - A special election to replace CIA director Mike Pompeo in the U.S. House is set for April 11th in Kansas 4th District. State Republican Chair Kelly Arnold tells KNSS News GOP delegates will meet February 9th at Friends University to choose a candidate, and the meeting is open to the public.

"We will open up to everybody, there a lot of people wanting to come and see who the Republicans will be selecting as their nominee," said Arnold.

Arnold says the GOP has six active campaigners for the spot on the ballot.

"The Republican Party has 126 delegates from 17 different counties in the 4th district that are eligible to vote for this, said Arnold. "And we have alternates in case some are not able to make it."

The Democrats' selection meeting will be February 11th at the Sedgwick County Courthouse at one p.m.
