GODDARD, Kan. (KSNW) - A 38-year-old woman was booked into jail Tuesday night on allegations of having unlawful sexual relations with a boy at the residential youth center called Lakeside Academy.

Amanda Renee McCool was arrested and booked for unlawful sexual relations with a 16-year-old boy.

She was an employee at Lakeside Academy next to Lake Afton.

Lakeside is a live-in residential facility that offers services for troubled youth who need life skills or counseling.

Investigators say she was arrested on three counts of unlawful sexual relations.

"It was first brought to investigator's attention back in March. I believe that rumors had been going around about this allegation, and they figured they needed to bring that to law enforcement's attention," said Lt. Timothy Myers, Sedgwick County Sheriff's Department.

McCool was released from jail on a bond of $50,000.

The Exploited and Missing Child Unit is also investigating the allegations.

The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office recently reported that an individual was arrested that may have had a connection to Lakeside Academy, and news stations have reached out to us for information relating to this report.  We have reached out to Sequel Youth Services, http://www.sequelyouthservices.com/, who is the parent company that provides the residential services at Lakeside Academy, and they have not provided us any information at this time.   It is our understanding, the individual involved in this story was an employee of Sequel Youth Services which is the company contracted by the Kansas Department of Children and Families to provide the residential services to the children at their facility.  Goddard Public Schools only provides educational services during the school day to students that are residing at the facility operated by Sequel. The said individual in this report was never an employee of Goddard Public Schools.
