LAPD makes arrest in Wichita "swatting" tragedy

The Los Angeles Police Department confirms they have arrested a 25 year-old man in connection with Thursday’s "swatting" call in Wichita, which ultimately led to the deadly officer-involved shooting of 28-year-old Andrew Finch.

Officer Mike Lopez with the LAPD tells our partners at KSN News that Tyler Barriss, of Los Angeles, was arrested at 4 p.m. Friday on a fugitive warrant in connection with the incident.  He was taken to the LAPD and booked into the Los Angeles County Jail without bail.

"Swatting" stems from someone making up a false report to get a SWAT team to descend upon an address.
