The Wichita City Council approved the latest round of funding for the downtown ballpark.

Tuesday's approval of design-build amendment number 4 for the entertainment venue and multi-sport stadium will cover items such as carpentry, painting, seating and the remaining concrete work within the stadium.  The contracted costs this go-around total about $9.9 million, about $793-thousand under budget.

Mayor Jeff Longwell found many positive points about the progress of the stadium.

"They're on schedule, under budget, I don't know what more we could ask for, great design-build team, we certainly appreciate that," he said.

The budget to date now totals nearly $60 million.  The park is slated to be finished next March.
