Less than a month after vandalism, band plays on

Weeks after vandals caused $50,000 in damage to the Pretty Prairie band room, the music students took to the stage to perform their final band concert of the year.

The concert was supposed to take place last month, but on April 13, vandals broke into the school, destroyed the band room and broke many of the instruments.

The school moved the concert to May 3.

Evan Koch, the school's music teacher, says that it would not have been possible to move forward with the concert without both donations from the community and the positive attitudes of his students.

Parents say that the donations came in so fast that their kids' music education wasn't compromised. Donations poured in from all over the country.

All three of the vandals ranged in age from 8 to 11.
