Police arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with a Friday afternoon shooting in southeast Wichita.

The shooting happened Friday around 4:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of South Parkwood, near Harry and Edgemoor. Wichita Police Chief Gordon Ramsay said that a young man was found there, who had died from an apparent gunshot wound.

Noah Kanyizere was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder.

A language barrier made developing suspect information difficult, at least at first. The department had interpreters that were able to help gain information about what led up to the man's death.
