Man shot near WSU campus

Wichita police say a 24-year-old man was shot near the Wichita State campus early Saturday morning.

A shots fired call came across dispatch around 3 a.m. in Fairmount Park, on north Yale. Police officers arrived at the scene and found several shell casings in the area.

Investigators say a man walked into a nearby hospital ten minutes later with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The Police believe that the man is connected to the shots fired call at Fairmount Park but the man is not cooperating with the investigation.
