Man stabbed during scuffle at Riverside convenience store

Argument between man and store employee preceded stabbing

Police are investigating after a man was stabbed at a convenience store in the Riverside neighborhood.

The incident happened just before midnight Wednesday at the Circle K convenience store near Seneca and McLean. Investigators say an argument led up to the incident. An unknown suspect got into a scuffle with an employee and was stabbed during the skirmish. Wichita Police Sgt. Jeremy Vogel says employees then barricaded the suspect inside the store until officers arrived on-scene.

The stabbing victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police are investigating the incident.
