On Thursday, for the first time in 24 years, Wichita returned as a host site for the NCAA men's basketball tournament. The event was held at Intrust Bank Arena downtown.

Attendance was robust for the four games in Wichita on Thursday, as 14,000+ people attended both the day session (Kansas defeating Pennsylvania, and Seton Hall's victory against North Carolina State,) and the evening session (Houston by a bucket over San Diego State, and Michigan defeating Montana.) It was a late night; the Montana-Michigan game ended shortly before midnight, more than 12 hours after the doors opened for the KU game to open the day's activities.

Play in Wichita resumes on Saturday with two Second Round games, with each winner advancing to the Sweet 16 next week:
*Kansas vs. Seton Hall, 6:10 p.m.
*Houston vs. Michigan, 8:40 p.m.

Kansas has never lost an NCAA Tournament game in Wichita (5-0 all-time). All KU games are heard live on Sports Radio KFH 1240AM 98.7FM.
