Midwest Consumers Paying More for Energy During Past Year

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has released the Midwest Region Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) for March 2017.

Energy costs rose 0.6% over the month, led by higher prices for gasoline (2.2%).

Over the course of the past year, energy costs, including gasoline & household fuels, have gone up 9.9% since March 2016.

Costs for food away from home have gone up 2.1% during the past year.
