A big development in providing faster test results for COVID-19. U-S Senator Jerry Moran tells KNSS News a Kansas company has been seeking approval from the Food and Drug Administration to go ahead with a portable test for home or office. Moran says the FDA has given "emergency use authorization" to begin using the test ... which is a "spit test" that is mailed in, and a result is returned by email. Indications are it would be a "same day service". Moran says the company plans to produce "large quantites" of the test. Moran did not feel free to name the company. He says the hope was to make the test available before school starts in the fall, at least on a limited basis.
