Storm Prediction Center

More severe weather possible later today and Monday

May 18, 2019 - 5:12 am

After damage-producing storms Friday night, another round of severe weather could be in the offing later this afternoon.

The Storm Prediction Center has outlined much of Kansas in a slight risk for severe weather. Forecasters say storms are likely to develop during the mid to late afternoon hours and move northeast across the region. Large hail, strong winds and heavy rains will be the main threats.

After a lull on Sunday, more severe weather is expected on Monday with large hail, strong winds, and tornadoes possible. Heavy rain is also expected over a large section of Kansas, which will initiate renewed issues with flooding.

As always, keep it on KNSS for the latest on the weather through the day.
