One man died and two others were injured by gunfire in the north part of Wichita.

Police Capt. Brent Allred says it happened early Saturday evening in a parking lot east of 17th & Grove. There was some sort of disturbance among multiple people at a family gathering when gunfire erupted, killing 35-year-old Justin Green. Green was not a gang-member; however, some gang-members were involved with this incident.

A 25-year-old man was also shot; he showed up at a hospital for treatment after the incident.

Before 6:00 a.m. Monday, a third man who was shot at this gathering was found in northwest Wichita, near 21st & West; that 22-year-old man was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds; he was hospitalized in serious condition.

Investigators believe the people involved in this incident were acquaintences -- they did know each other.

This is Wichita's 14th criminal homicide case of the year.
