WICHITA, Kan. (KNSS) - A 17-year-old boy was shot and killed in the north part of Wichita, and the victim's dad has been arrested.

Police Lt. Todd Ojile says it happened at about 9:00 p.m. Sunday in the 2400 block of N. Minnesota. The father and son had an argument in the front yard. A handgun came out, and the teenager began to run away. As the teen was running to the east, his dad fired several shots.

Police found the victim in an alley west of Minnesota; he had a single gunshot wound to his torso. A friend of the victim was there, directing police to the dad's house.

Police arrested the teenager's dad, a 41-year-old man; he was booked into jail for 2nd-degree murder. This is Wichita's 7th homicide of the year.
