One dead after motorcycle and car crash in Wichita

Update: Sunday 6:52 a.m.:

We know more about a motorcycle and car collision that left one person dead.

It happened around 12:50 a.m. Saturday, in the 1700 block of Southwest Drive, near Harry and West Street in southwest Wichita.

Wichita Police say a 44-year-old man and his passenger were leaving a business and pulled out onto a frontage road to go north, when two motorcycle operators racing southbound on the frontage road struck the vehicle.   The motorcyclist, a 19 year old man, died at the scene.

The second motorcycle operator left the scene. The driver and passenger in the vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries. 

Police say speed is believed to be a factor in this accident but their investigation is ongoing.

The victim's name has not been released.
