One dead from highway accident near Salina

Strong wind gust contributed to the accident

One person has died following a highway crash near Salina.  It happened just after 5:00 p.m. Friday on westbound I-70 near mile marker 255 between a passenger vehicle and a semi.

The highway patrol reports that a strong wind gust caused an eastbound semi to go out of control and jack-knife into the westbound lanes, colliding with a passenger vehicle.

The man who died was identified as Harry A. Taylor, 60, of Salina.  

The driver of the semi was not injured.
