One person was hurt after an overnight crash on the Kansas Turnpike near Emporia.

The accident happened around midnight at mile marker 116 to the south of Emporia. A semi-truck driver was heading south when he drove off the right shoulder then overcorrected.  The vehicle then traveled back onto the roadway and jackknifed into a guard rail.
A second car then ran into the semi. The driver was transported to a Wichita hospital for treatment.

The incident slowed down traffic on the Turnpike for a few hours but crews cleared the area around 3:20 a.m. Saturday.

The accident is still under investigation.
