One injured after car vs. train accident in Derby

DERBY, Kan. (KNSS) – One person is in serious condition after a their car was struck by a train Thursday night.
It happened around 7:50 p.m. Sgt. Michael Littleton with the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office told KSN News the vehicle was hit near the intersection of Red Powell Drive and K-15 and dragged by the train along the tracks.
The person in the vehicle was taken to a local hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
