The owner of a defunct South Wichita car lot will have to pay a hefty price for shady business dealings.

According to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office, the owner of the now-defunct Quality Used Cars, Angelo Jefferson Anderson, will have to pay more than 140-thousand dollars in fines and restitution for deceptive and unconscionable acts and practices.

The Wichita Eagle reports a lawsuit was filed by at least ten buyers last May, saying that Quality Used Cars did not turn over car titles within 60 days, didn't complete paperwork, disclose recall information and lied about the state where at least one vehicle was titled.

State law says that dealerships have to send customers certificates of title within 60 days of any vehicle purchase, otherwise, the transaction is void and customers are entitled to a full refund.
