Pair arrested after getting vehicle stuck during burglary in Barton County

A man and woman from Victoria, Kansas were arrested Tuesday.  According to the Barton County Sheriff's office around 1 p.m. citizens reported a vehicle pulling into an abandoned farm and two suspects walking in the area.  

Barton County deputies encountered the pair walking along K-4 highway west of Hoisington. The man was identified as 47-year-old Brett Woods and the female was identified as 44-year-old Aundria Pasek. Woods and Pasek told officers their vehicle had become stuck after they pulled into the abandoned farm.

Sheriff's deputies went back to the vehicle and discovered "freshly cut copper pipe and copper wire." After further investigation officers determined that Woods and Pasek were in the process of burglarizing the area when their vehicle got stuck. 

Woods also had an active warrant out of Russell County and officers found a meth pipe on Pasek. Pasek was booked on burglary charges as well as possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond has been set at $10,000. Woods was booked on burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held on a $20,000 bond in addition to the Russell County warrant.
