September 22, 2020 - 1:37 pm

The Wichita Police Department (WPD) has arrested Dominic Thomas, 19, of Wichita on charges of attempted murder and aggravated kidnapping.
At approximately 10:00 p.m. on Monday, officers responded to an assault report at a home in the 3900 block of North Litchfield.
The officers contacted a gilr, 17, who was visibly shaken and wet.  The investigation revealed Thomas and the girl were talking near a pond at 37th Street North and Sullivan when a disturbance took place.

During the disturbance, Thomas battered the girl, drug her to the pond, and held her head under the water.  Thomas then released her and fled.
Officers later located Thomas, and he was arrested without further incident and booked into jail.
The investigation is ongoing, and the case will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office.
