Police: Two additional teens arrested for Wichita armed robberies

Two teenage boys have been arrested for separate armed robberies that left one suspect dead. 

The teens, ages 16 and 17, were arrested Saturday evening after police made a traffic stop in the 200 block of North Edgemoor.

The robberies took place on Friday, Dec. 28 around 12:10 p.m. at the Family Dollar Store in the 900 block of South Woodlawn, and the second occurred around 2:45 p.m. at the B & H Fast Trip on South Seneca.  One boy, 16, was shot and killed by a customer he was robbing. Police said the suspects exchanged gunfire with the customer before fleeing the business.

A boy, 17, was booked into the Juvenile Detention Facility on warrants for the robberies, possession of narcotics and possession of a firearm by a felon. A boy, 16, was booked on warrants for the robberies, possession of narcotics, unlawful possession of methamphetamine and a narcotic violation. Another teen was arrested on Sunday, Dec. 30.

The firearm that's believed to have been used in both robberies was recovered.
