Rental scooters coming to downtown Wichita

Today (Monday) city officials are beginning a pilot program to bring electric scooters for rent to downtown Wichita. Mayor Jeff Longwell tells KNSS News a new ordinance will allow motorized scooters in the "core area" from dawn to sunset ... not to exceed 15 mph.

At Tuesday's meeting, the Wichita City Council will discuss a new Intergrated Care Team, to deal with persons having mental difficulties. Mayor Jeff Longwell says the team will include a law enforcement officer, a person from COMCARE who specializes in mental healh issues, and an emergency medical technician.

The City of Wichita is launching a new internet tool to boost communication between citizens and City Hall. It's called access wichita dot com.  Mayor Jeff Longwell tells KNSS News the web site will include a serach engine that includes city government information, plus a means to report problems citizens encounter.
