KDOT, the Kansas Department of Transportation, has announced roadwork projects for Wichita, mostly in the North junction area.

This Saturday, August 10, the North-bound lanes of North Broadway will be closed from 37th street to I-235 while crews pour concrete there. North-bound traffic will be diverted at 37th street. The road is expected to be closed from 6 AM to 6 PM.

Temporary traffic signals have been installed at 42nd street North at Meridian. They are expected to be replaced with permanent signals and operational by November.

The Northbound I-235/Eastbound K-96 exit ramp to North Broadway will close on August 19 for completion of the new exit ramp from Broadway to I-235. This is expected to be closed until November.

Northbound I-235 and Eastbound K-96 are now reduced to one lane each as they merge east of Meridian. Officials say to expect congestion there and they recommend taking an alternate rout.

The North Broadway ramp to I-235 is closed until the two ramps on the south side of the interstate are completed, probably November.

During the North Broadway construction, Old Lawrence Road is closed under I-235. Access to homes and businesses north of I-235 is available from 45th St. North.
