A Sedgwick County Sheriff's detention deputy is charged with DUI. A release Monday from the Sheriff's Office stated that a detention deputy had been booked into jail after being stopped by the Maize Police Department early Saturday morning.  The detention deputy was booked on allegations of Driving Under the Influence and failure to use headlights.

In the release Sheriff Jeff Easter said in part, "The Sheriff’s Office will always investigate any allegation against an employee with the due diligence that the public entrusts in us."

According to the Sheriff's office, the Maize Police Department has jurisdiction in the case and the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office will make no further comments at this time.
