Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office warning about phone scam

The Sedgwick County Sheriff's office is warning residents about a scam. They say there have been recent reports of person claiming to be with the Sheriff's Office calling people and telling them they have violated the Offender Registration Act. They may make threats about fines and arrests and will eventually make an offer to settle fines over the phone.
The Sedgwick County Sheriff's office says they will never offer to collect a fine over the phone.
