Severe weather affected many in south central Kansas on Monday.  Storms produced high wind, heavy rain, and reports of tornadoes.

Around 1:40 p.m., tornado warnings were issued for Sumner and Cowley counties.

During the storm, power flashes were reported on Highway 166 about a mile west of Arkansas City.  The National Weather Service reported structural damage to outbuildings, roof damage to some homes, and tree limbs down in the area.

Radar estimates that over an inch and a half of rain fell in a short time.

KSN News reports that in Wellington, storms knocked down power lines in the 700 block East of 20th Street South.
