Shooting in Valley Center leaves two people injured

VALLEY CENTER, Kan. - Two people were injured after a shooting near Valley Center Saturday morning.
The incident happened around 9 AM in the 4200 block of East 93rd Street North, just east of Hillside. Sedgwick County Sheriff's Captain Mark Pierce says a man and a woman in their 50's were at their home when an unknown suspect walked in and shot them. The suspect then left in an unknown direction.
Both victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment. One person is in critical condition with two gunshot wounds to the leg. The other person suffered serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
The Sheriff's Office says they believe the incident may have started as a robbery.
