Sobriety check in Wichita Saturday evening

The Wichita Police Department will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint on Saturday in Wichita, beginning at 11 pm and ending at or around 3 a.m. Sunday.  

Officers are going to be stopping motorists to check their driver’s license, proof of insurance and seat belt usage.  Motorists not in compliance or are suspected to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs will be detained for further evaluation.  your average motorist will not experience any excessive delay at the checkpoint.   

This check point is coordinated and worked in partnership with the Kansas  Highway Patrol, the Sedgwick County Sherriff’s Department, Sedgwick County Emergency Management Services; and the Kansas DUI Victim Center.
