Soldier dies in on-base accident at Fort Riley

A 1st Infantry Division Soldier was killed over the weekend as a result of a motorcycle accident at Fort Riley. 

In a release the army announced that 20-year-old Pfc. Timothy Meuse, an infantryman with Company C, 1st Combined Arms Battalion, 63rd Armor Regiment, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Inf. Div., lost control of his motorcycle while driving on post in the late Saturday. Meuse was taken to Irwin Army Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead early Sunday morning. Fort Riley law enforcement officials say the incident is under investigation. 

Meuse joined the Army in February 2017 and he deployed to Poland in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve in September 2017. A native of Londonderry, New Hampshire, Meuse's awards and decorations include the Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army
Service Ribbon and Overseas Service Ribbon.
