The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office announced that law enforcement agencies in the area have written 184 citations on K-15 in the last six days. On September 1, the Sedgwick County Sheriff partnered with the Kansas Highway Patrol, Derby Police Department, Mulvane Police Department, Wichita Police Department and the Kansas Department of Transportation in an enforcement effort to reduce speeding on K-15.

In a post on their Facebook page the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office announced their officers have written 138 citations. They say that Derby Police added 26 more citations, and Mulvane has added 20.
In the post they advise drivers to slow down, wear their seat belts, obey traffic control devices, do not operate a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or other substances, and do not text and drive. The post also contained a breakdown of where the money collected from fines is spent, noting that "no money collected from traffic fines directly finances the operations of the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office or the Kansas Highway Patrol."
