The Cardinals took game 2 of the I-70 series pounding out 11 hits in an 8-2 victory over the Royals at Kaufman Stadium.

A four run second inning was all St. Louis would need but for insurance they added 2 more in the sixth and 2 more in the nineth to squash any hopes the Royals may have had.

Alcides Escobar's 2 run homer in the fifth was the most excitement the Royals could muster as Jack Flaherty pitched seven strong innings allowing the Royals only 3 hits. Danny Duffy pitched 5 and a third and took the loss.

The series wraps up tomorrow afternoon with Jakob Junis on the mound for Kansas City as the Royals look to avoid being swept.
