Stolen packages a growing problem in Wichita

Stolen packages are becoming a big problem in Wichita.

Last week, a family in west Wichita had $300 worth of packages stolen from them after two thieves stile them right off their front porch in broad daylight.

Security film showed a man and a woman approaching the porch where Kristin Loyd lives. The two thieves appeared to argue with each other for a few seconds before grabbing the packages and retreating to the street.

More and more people in Wichita are reporting losing goods that have been delivered via UPS or the post office. Here are some tips to ensure this doesn't happen to you:

First, if you work during the day, arrange to have packages delivered to you place of business instead of at home. Second, if you are having something shipped to you via UPS, have the package delivered at a UPS access point for you to pick up at your convenience. Third, arrange to have your packages delivered "signature required" so that items are not left on a doorstep for long periods of time.

Loyd works an odd schedule and thinks it is only coincidence that the thieves struck when she wasn’t home in the middle of the day. If you know the identity of the thieves in her case, you may be entitled to a cash reward.
