Sumner County Sheriff's Deputy injured in crash

A Sumner County Sheriff's Deputy was injured in a crash on K-15 near Mulvane.   

According to the Sumner County Sheriff's office around 8:30 Tuesday night Deputy Steven Williams was southbound on K-15 near mile marker 60. Williams was slowing down and pulled onto the shoulder.  A southbound van struck the deputy's patrol car when the deputy tried to make a u-turn. 

The deputy was pinned in the vehicle and later transported by ambulance to a Wichita hospital in critical condition. He is now reported to be in stable condition.  The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
