Security review website Safewise recently released its State of Safety in Kansas report. Rebecca Edwards with Safewise says Kansans #1 security concern is property crime.

“Sixty-two percent of the people we talked to said that was their top safety concern," said Edwards.  "That is just above the national average of 59%.”

Edwards says just 12% of Kansans have experienced a property crime in the past year. That's below the national average of 16%.

“Violent crime was the second-most concerning issue with 58% of folks worried about that,” said Edwards. “Forty-nine percent are worried about their digital security, like identity theft or being hacked.”

Forty-seven percent are worried about environmental concerns. The top environmental concern is tornadoes.

“I’d say across the board, Kansas seems to be slightly more concerned than the rest of the nation,” said Edwards.
