Suspect wanted in connection to a Linn County shooting arrested
Had been on the run for more than a day
Authorities captured a suspect connected to a shooting in Blue Mound.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation worked with Kansas City area police departments to locate 35-year old John Butler of Lenexa in connection with the Blue Mound shooting.
The Linn County Sheriff’s office had responded to a shooting at a house located at 604 E. Walnut Ave. in Blue Mound around 1:30 p.m. Friday.
They found a man with a gunshot wound. He was transported by EMS to a Kansas City area hospital.
The suspect's vehicle was spotted at around 6:20 p.m. in the area of Roe and College. The suspect did not stop for the officer and a pursuit began.
Butler crashed his vehicle near I-435 and exited on foot into a wooded area.
KBI agents and officers pursued him on foot where he was arrested a short time later.
