Teenager charged in southeast Wichita shooting

WICHITA, Kan. - A teenager is one of two people charged in a Thanksgiving Day shooting in Wichita.  It happened Thanksgiving morning in the 1900 block of East Pawnee.

15-year-old Jimmy Shopteese was shot and killed in the parking lot of a laundromat.  Two people were arrested in connection with the shooting.

KAKE News reports that 24-year-old Darien Lee Freeman was arrested and booked into Sedgwick County Jail on charges of first-degree murder and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

On Tuesday the Sedgwick County DA's office confirmed that a 15-year-old suspect was also arrested and charged in the shooting.  That teenager's name has not been released.
