Two weeks after being attacked by a tiger at the Topeka Zoo, zookeeper Kristyn Hayden-Ortega has been released from the hospital and is continuing her recovery in a rehab facility according to zoo director Brendan Wiley. Hayden-Ortega suffered scratches and punctures to her head, neck, back, and arm as a result of the attack on April 20th.

Wiley said an investigation determined the tiger was able to gain access to where Hayden-Ortega was due to a door being left open that separates the two tiger enclosures. However, zoo officials still don't know why that door was left open.
