The Wichita Police Department has partnered with other agencies to help ensure safety during NCAA games at Intrust Bank Arena.

Deputy Chief Troy Livingston says the Sedgwick County Sheriff, EMS, 911 and Emergency Management, as well as officials from the NCAA, Department of Justice, and the arena have worked together to form an operational plan for the event.

Deputy Chief Lingston says two shifts of officers will work in the area of the arena and old town, and will be in cars, on foot, bicycles, ATV's, and horseback, and will be there to help with traffic and to enforce laws as well as provide information to visitors.

Patrols will be handled very much the same as with Riverfest, and will be present during game days until the early morning hours.

Livingston says anyone who witnesses anything suspicious should report it immediately by either flagging an officer, or calling 911.
