Trial date is set for Wichita mother accused in the death of her young son

A Wichita mother accused of killing her infant son, will stand trial.

Kimberly Compus, 23, pleaded not-guilty to 1st Degree Murder for the death of Zayden Jaynesahklauh, 2.

The child died from an overdose of a drug that treats opioid addiction in April of this year.

Reggie Whiters who was in the motel room with Compus testified Monday, saying Zayden was acting strange the night before he died.

"I said, hey, there's something wrong with your son.  I said that two or three times," Winters testified.

The trial date for Compus was set for March 16.
