Two arrested in overnight burglary

Took power tools from home under construction

The Wichita Police Department arrested two men related to an early morning burglary in west Wichita.

At approximately 2:30 Saturday morning, an alert citizen notified authorities of two unknown suspects removing property from a residence that was under construction in the 7100 block of west 11th street. The citizen also provided the description of the suspect truck. 

Officers located and stopped the suspect vehicle near Maple and Ridge Rd.  The two suspects were taken into custody without incident.  Power tools taken from the home on 11th street were located in the truck and were returned to the owner.
A 38-year-old man was arrested and booked into jail for burglary, larceny, and driving on a suspended license.  The other suspect, a 31-year-old man, was arrested and booked into jail for burglary and larceny.

The investigation is ongoing and will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office.
