Two Arrests for Gang-Related Drive-By Shootings in Wichita

Wichita police have made two arrests after at least four gang-related drive-by shootings in the city since Tuesday.

Those drive-bys took place near 14th & Piatt; 23rd & Minnesota; east of 23rd & Grove; and on S. Mission near Lincoln & Woodlawn.

Investigators identied two suspects in these cases: a 19-year-old man, and a 16-year-old boy. Early Thursday morning, officers zeroed in on the suspects in the southeast part of Wichita near Hillside & George Washington Boulevard, arresting them in the 3100 block of E. Funston.

Both suspects were taken into custody for multiple counts of aggravated battery, discharge of a firearm into an occupied dwelling, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, and possession of ecstasy.
