Two murders were recorded in 13 hours in Wichita during the weekend.

The first case happened Saturday afternoon at an apartment complex not far from downtown, south of McLean & Kellogg. Police investigators believe three suspects fired more than a dozen gunshots into an apartment in the 500 block of S. Laclede; that gunfire hit three apartments.

The victim who died in the apartment has been identified as 19-year-old Timothy Golden.

Investigators identified one of those suspects; that 18-year-old man was arrested Saturday evening near 13th & Oliver, in the 1300 block of N. Dellrose. Police are still looking for the other two suspects.

The second homicide case happened about 13 hours later, when police were called to a shooting before 2:30 a.m. Sunday in the south part of Wichita at a mobile home park east of MacArthur & Hydraulic.

At that location, officers found 66-year-old Arthur Goebel, who had been shot multiple times; he was hospitalized, but died from his gunshot wounds.

Investigators believe an armed suspect forced entry into the residence, was confronted by Goebel, then shot him.

There have been 21 murder cases in Wichita this year.
