Two horseback riders injured after tow truck hits them

AUGUSTA, Kan. (KSNW) - Two horseback riders were injured when a tow truck hit them Wednesday night. It happened around 9:15 p.m. just east of Augusta. 

The driver of the truck was crossing the Walnut River bridge on Southwest 100th Street when it came across three people on horseback in the middle of the road.

It was dark at the time, and the truck hit the two riders. They were transported to the hospital in critical condition. All three riders were in their teens. The Kansas Highway Patrol investigated the accident.
