Two injured in Wichita shooting

Police: Shooting was not random

UPDATE:  Two people were injured following a shooting in north Wichita.  It happened around 5:15 p.m. Thursday afternoon near 27th and Arkansas.

Police say they found shell casings and blood in a parking lot.  Two people were found in the 2,600 block of north Jackson.

Both were transported to an area hospital and later released.  Investigators said the shooting was not random.  The case remains under investigation.

A shooting was reported in north Wichita.  It happened around 5:15 p.m. Thursday afternoon in the area of 27th north and Arkansas near Evergreen Park.

According to authorities, two people were found after officers followed a blood trail. One person was found near 25th and Jackson, while the other was found a block away.  Unofficial reports identified one of the victims as a woman, 30, with critical injuries.  The condition of the other person was not known.

Police continue to investigate.
