Two people have died in a motorcycle crash in northeast Kansas.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says the incident happened around 9:30 Saturday night along Interstate 35 just outside of Gardner. Troopers say a deer ran out in front a motorcycle driven by 37-year-old Jason Huen. They say when Huen hit the deer and a guardrail, he and his passenger, 27-year-old Julie Huen were thrown from the bike.

A second motorcyclist suffered minor injuries after laying down his bike during the collision.

The investigation into the crash continues.
