Two men arrested in battery theft

Wichita Police have arrested two men in connection to a theft of batteries from backup stations owned by Cox Communications.

A traffic stop near Ridge and Central at around 4:30 Wednesday morning led police to the discovery of two suspects with the stolen property.   

Police reports show that Cox Communications lost $1,900 from the theft of nine batteries, damage to the box door, and damage to the battery wires.

The two men, 42-year old Willie Price of Valley Center and 35-year old Christopher Rather of Wichita were arrested and booked on charges of felony theft, destruction of property, possession of drug paraphernalia and miscellaneous traffic charges.
